About Us

Crystal and Bryan moved to Singapore in July of 2009 after Bryan accepted a job for the Institute of High Performance Computing, under the Agency of Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR), which is located in Fusionopolis.  Crystal has been working with a group of long-tailed macaques in Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, in association with Nanyang Technological University.  In their spare time, they enjoy exploring the wild places of Singapore.
Before moving to Singapore, they were in graduate school at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM, where Crystal earned her Master's degree and Bryan earned his PhD.  The two of them met while studying under the same advisor at NMSU, and they have been together since March of 2008.  Bryan is originally from Minnesota and Crystal is originally from Ohio.
Bryan and Crystal obviously enjoy nature, hiking, traveling, camping, and wildlife very much.  They also like reading, spending time with their families, and playing nerdy strategy games like Settlers of Catan and Carcassonne. Crystal really likes blogging and cooking, especially Indian food, and Bryan has recently been getting into photography.  They also like movies and especially enjoy watching the TV series Firefly, even though there was only ever one season and the DVDs are now getting worn out.
On a more professional note, Bryan earned his PhD in Social Psychology from NMSU and his Master's degree in General/Experimental Psychology from the College of William and Mary. His B.A. in Psychology is from St. John's University.  Crystal earned her B.A. in Psychology and Religious Studies from The College of Wooster, and her Master's in Social Psychology from NMSU.  Since graduating college, Crystal's interests have shifted to animal behavior rather than human behavior, and she has been working on acquiring experience in that field.

Bryan and Crystal got engaged in New Zealand in September of 2011!!
