These Pringles have been popping up all over S'pore lately- the flavors are seaweed, soft-shell crab, and grilled shrimp. So bizarre! I love the unnatural neon pink of the grilled shrimp chips! I've also seen a so-called tutti-frutti flavor: blueberry and hazelnut.

ReplyDeleteit's true. i'm an american living in malaysia.
ReplyDeleteat some point this past year (sorry, no internet link or more information), pizza hut was advertising mayonnaise-stuffed crust pizza.
i shit you not.
My wife misses the 'coconut cheetoes' from Taiwan.. any leads for ordering online??
ReplyDeleteOh! Somebody got me a bunch of these recently, when she went to the Philippines-- apparently, they're a Thai product and are sold all over SEAsia.
ReplyDeleteThe seaweed and the shrimp flavors are delicious, but the crab is only okay.
im singaporean, seaweed is addictive as its not overly tasty!
ReplyDeleteCoconut Cheetos might be worse that soft-shell crab Pringles. I lived in New Mexico, and there were Flamin' Hot Cheetos with lime, Habanero Cheetos, Jalapeno Cheetos, and more. They were all really delicious. There were also jalapeno Pringles and guacamole flavored Pringles, which were the same freakish shade of green as seaweed Pringles.
ReplyDeleteMayonnaise stuffed crust pizza sounds disgusting. And I thought that taking something bad for you and making it infinitely worse was an American specialty- like the new KFC Double Down: bacon, cheese, and creamy sauce sandwiched between two pieces of fried chicken. Yikes.
ReplyDeletewooaw.. i just found this page wile googleing for shrimp chips. and yes, i see that i'm replying to a 3 year old post, lol! but i must tell you, i've been enjoying pizza since i can remenber :P (i'm 29 now) and i never liked it with ketchup on top. i always ate it with lots of mayonnaise and garlic sauce on top :) especially for the crust, that i always find tasteless and dry otherwise (i'm european, in case you were wondering where in the world would someone eat that :P). so mayonnaise stuffed crust pizza sounds perfect to me :D
Deletejust tried the soft shell crab..
ReplyDeleteit tastes okay at first.. then the weird crab taste comes in.. and spoils everything.. couldnt eat more than a few chips
guess you just gotta try out different tastes and see which flavour combis work huh
Yeah something about crustaceans and potato chips just don't seem to jive so well.
ReplyDeleteYou can get several of the Pringles flavors from Thaicraft.com, as well as other Asian groceries. Beware, the shipping will be outrageous!
