After showering off the sand, we walked around and explored some of the places we hadn't seen yet. Toward the end of the long main road in Karon was a beautiful wat that appeared to be under construction. Although the wat looked pretty much whole and completed, there were building supplies lying around, and we encountered a monk busily painting one of the vividly colored dragons. Everything was insanely colorful and ornately adorned. We spent awhile roaming around, taking pictures and enjoying the relative peace and quiet.
After the wat, we roamed town awhile longer, stopping to have lunch and one last banana milkshake. Then it was time to bid farewell to the Karon Sunshine and catch a minibus to the airport. We were taking a long, circuitous route to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Our journey began in the minibus and ended the next afternoon when we finally reached our destination. We were then blissfully unaware of the adventure awaiting us over the next few days. But that's the joy of traveling!

I really wish Thailand were closer to the US. :( I'd go back in a heartbeat.
